Emily Sokol, LMSW, is a Licensed Master of Social Work, who specializes in working with children and adolescents  utilizes evidence-based practices from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) framework to treat adolescents and children who experience anxiety disorders—including separation anxiety, social anxiety, generalized anxiety, phobias, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)—as well as self-esteem challenges, adjustment-related concerns, and life transitions. Emily also has a background in supporting families navigating chronic medical conditions, including POTS, PANDAS, Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis (UC), pain management, and other medically-involved complications.

Emily earned her Master of Social Work from Simmons University in Boston, MA. During her training, she gained experience working with various populations and settings which solidified her passion for working with children and families, as well as those dealing with the intersection of co-occurring medical and psychological conditions. Emily completed her master’s level practicum at the Boyce L. Ansley School, supporting students and families navigating life challenges and providing individualized therapy to students.

Originally from New Jersey and raised in Atlanta, Emily is excited to continue working with her community. Outside of her clinical practice, she enjoys traveling, exploring the outdoors, and fostering animals through local shelters. Emily shares her home with her two adopted cats, Mason and Kidden. As a pre-licensed clinician. Ms. Sokol is being supervised by Sallie Livingston, LCSW.
