Dr. Eliana Pimentel is a Postdoctoral fellow at Anxiety Specialists of Atlanta. She utilizes evidence-based practices from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to treat adults and adolescents grappling with social anxiety, generalized anxiety, depression, perfectionism, stress, life transitions, identity development, and relationship difficulties. In her work, Dr. Pimentel incorporates a strength-based and person-centered approach, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and the therapeutic relationship.

Before beginning her doctoral training, Dr. Pimentel worked as a research assistant at the Social Ecology and Adolescent Development Lab at Georgia State University, an intern at a local nonprofit focused on supporting Latine youth and families impacted by domestic violence, and a volunteer crisis counselor. Dr. Pimentel began her doctoral training at Mercer University in the Fall of 2021, earning her M.S. in Clinical Psychology in 2023 and her PsyD in 2026. Dr. Pimentel completed her diagnostic externship at an Atlanta private practice, where she conducted neurodevelopmental and psychoeducational evaluations with children. She additionally completed one year of externship at the Kennesaw State University Counseling and Psychological Services before completing her advanced externship year at the Georgia Tech Center for Mental Health Care and Resources. In the Summer of 2026, she completed her APA accredited pre-doctoral internship at the Georgia Tech Center for Mental Health Care and Resources, before beginning her postdoctoral fellowship at Anxiety Specialists of Atlanta. Dr. Pimentel is being supervised by Dr. Devika Basu.

Dr. Pimentel is a proud Atlanta native and daughter of Ecuadorian immigrants. In her free time, she enjoys experimenting with baking and cooking, reading fantasy and literary fiction, thrifting, and going on walks with her husband and dog.
