Betsy Teel, MS is a third-year doctoral student training at Anxiety Specialists of Atlanta. She enjoys working with pre-adolescents and teenagers with their families, as well as young adults. Betsy appreciates working with those experiencing a range of challenges including anxiety and mood disorders, life transitions, and emotional dysregulation. Based on the presenting problem and client preferences, Betsy applies principles and techniques of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to support her clients’ well-being. Betsy has previous clinical experience conducting evaluations with adults and adolescents facing substance use problems, maladaptive personality patterns, mood and anxiety disorders, schizophrenia-spectrum disorders, and emotional/behavioral dysregulation.

Prior to joining the team at ASoA, Betsy graduated from Wofford College with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She then began her Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) program at Mercer University in 2023. Betsy recently completed the requirements to obtain a Master of Science in Psychology en route to earning her PsyD, and is excited to continue exploring her passion for helping others. Betsy is being supervised by Dr. Devika Basu.
