SUMMARY:LGBTQIA+ Teen Anxiety Group (Spring 2025)
DESCRIPTION:This in-person therapy group is for teens (aged 14-17) identify
 ing as LGBTQIA+ living with anxiety\, led by Jessie Jensen\, LPC. This gro
 up will meet weekly with the goal of providing support and understanding t
 hrough interpersonal connections\, while learning skills of mindfulness\, 
 interpersonal effectiveness\, cognitive restructuring\, assertiveness\, an
 d more.\nAccording to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America an
 d the National Social Anxiety Center\, LGBTQIA+ teens are at higher risk o
 f developing mental health disorders due to a combination of bullying\, st
 igma\, rejection\, and shame. These can lead to the development of unhealt
 hy or negative core beliefs about oneself and the world. This group aims t
 o provide a safe space for LGBTQIA+ teens to discuss their anxiety with th
 eir peers while learning skills to be able to address and challenge though
 t patterns and social dynamics.\nWhen: Every Wednesday from January 29-Mar
 ch 18\, 2025 from 5-6:30pm (8 weeks)\nWho: high school aged teens (14-17) 
 identifying as LGBTQIA+ with an anxiety disorder diagnosis\nWhere: Anxiety
  Specialists of Atlanta\, 1360 Center Drive Suite 200\, Dunwoody GA\nCost:
